Turns out whoever processed the order never pulled the fridge order and they keyed in my telephone number incorrectly so the company that actually makes the delivery, GE, could not contact me to confirm the delivery. I called Home Depot the day before (because I had not heard anything about the delivery for the next day) and learned that they contract with GE for delivery. Once I was able to get GE's number and spoke with them it was late in the day the day before the delivery date. During my multiple conversations with Home Depot and GE employees where I repeated my order of the two appliances to several people, no one ever said the fridge order was not on the actual order. The day of the delivery, I still had not spoken with the delivery driver, but they just showed up. They said they never got the fridge order. Those two gentleman where very nice, the installation of the gas range went fine. So then I called Home Depot and spoke with John at the Pro Desk who was completely useless also. I gave him all the information and he claimed he would look into it and call me back. Never heard a word back. I'm done. Lowe's is much better and will continue to be my big box store when needed.
I asked an associate for help finding a few items and they were more then willing to help me. They knew exactly where the items were that I was looking for and it was a wonderful experience.
They are nice to you when they sell you something but if said appliance comes broken as mine did, they could care less about helping you. I bought a brand new washer and dryer and didn't use it right away due to being out of town. First time I used it, it leaked all over the floor. After making sure it was properly hooked up, I ran it again and it leaked yet again, confirming it was the washer itself. I called Home Depot right away and they promised me a call back no later than next morning. A call never came. I called them at 12:30 and "we were just about to call you" just to be told that they need to send a third party to do a service call since I exceeded the "48 hour refusal window". So they actually expect you to do a load of wash while the delivery guy waits in order for you to determine if both the washer and dryer work? I think paying $1600+ should be reason enough to honor providing your customer with a WORKING appliance out of the box. They also lied and told me the company who would do the service call could recommend replacement which was yet another lie they tell you because the service company told me they only tell you that so you don't complain to them but they expect them to fix only. They don't take recommendations. So basically they sell you a refurbished washer at the price of brand new and have no customer service concern for you whatsoever once they have your money. I will be telling everyone I know NOT to go to Home Depot, especially this location, if this is the standard way you are treated and pushed aside. You should be ashamed of yourself.
We have rented Penske rental trucks twice via Home Depot. We will never do it again. I will drive to another town to find a U-Haul dealer before I subject myself to the poor process this company has with this rental company. It takes a minimum of an hour to check a truck out or in and that is with an already made reservation. No one ever seems to know the process and the one person that does is also doing two other jobs so you wait until they happen to remember that you are still standing there for a reason. And, they just don't seem to care that they do not know what they are doing.
The cashiers are great in-store help and ask for assistance finding a product is a joke so if u can avoid trying to get help u r better off no one can help !
My next complaint revolves around ordering appliances. After much research and talking to the appliance employees, I ordered a whirlpool stove and refrigerator on the home depot website. I received confirmation of my order via email with my phone, address and the order correct. The delivery day was also on the confirmation.
Helpful staff! Quickly found everything we needed.
Let me start by saying that when in the store, all the employees are very nice but like so many people working jobs like this they are not truly engaged in their work.
